All of the suggestions are valid. Just remember though that you will still have frequency issues via SBIR and will still have to address the appropriate decay time.    EQ, splayed walls, etc cannot address the time domain.

If I were you I would hire a consultant to design the room around your speakers.  Ethan ? Brian ? The proportions of the room are key. Room treatment last if needed at all. Money well spent no guessing.

Yes, I do this all the time either for free as part of the sale of RealTraps products, or on a consulting basis.

Also, angling walls does not eliminate room modes or standing waves! They still exist, and the angles just make it more difficult to calculate / predict the frequencies.
