MPDroid setup help request
« on: 26 Oct 2013, 06:59 pm »
Can someone help me set up MPDroid?  I cannot connect to my wireless bridge.

Under settings I have 2 choices WLAN based connection and Default connection settings.

In both places, i have entered the following:

Host:  192.168.1.10           (I also tried bryston-bdp-1.local)
Port:  6600
Password:
Streaming Host:
Streaming Port:
Streaming url suffix:

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi

You have to use the IP address with Android (not the bryston-bdp-1.local)

Use WLAN
IP address
Port 6600

Your settings look OK - are you sure you are connected to the router with whatever you are using to connect to the BDP?

It seems my host name should be 192.168.1.6
using this works.

BDP address may change in time and MPDroid will stop responding again
My advice will be to set the ip address of BDP as static (access BDP interface by entering ip address in Chrome, go to Settings, Network, wait until current ip is displayed, check Static and then Apply)

Be sure to note that ip address. Should you need to reset (or replace) the router and that ip address is in the DHCP pool, you may not be able to access the bdp. You may consider using your router to allocate the same IP address to the bdp's MAC address. That will leave the bdp in a mode to pull any ip address, should you reset or replace your router. Feel free to PM me if you need some help with that and I'll do my best.
