I hope it goes 7 games, not only will that allow more time for STL fans to see their excellent team play, but frankly Game 7 of any pro final is just an awesome experience for anyone who likes sports at all!

Yep, I agree. Game 7s are a blast to watch...unless it's a blowout. Then, it's just painful for the loosing team. The next game is a must win for the Cards. I think we can take it to a game 7 but we'll see.

Kinda late for that plan. They should have done that in St. Lou. Now Napoli will be hitting behind Ortiz and the chance that either Ellsbury or Pedroia are already on base is pretty high.

And neither team has been hitting besides Holliday and Papi. I'd guess the home team is more likely to respond to this change of venue. If Boston can solve Wacha early, it's all over.

Well for a team that lost it's closer, starting shortstop and two starting pitchers at the beginning of the season to injuries and lost their best RBI man for the last 6 weeks of the season and the playoffs, they did quite well, especially when competing against two of the four highest salaried teams in baseball in the playoffs and WS. They brought up 11 rookies to fill in the gaps and all but a few contributed immensely. With the abundance of talent they have now, they're going to have some really difficult decisions of who stays, who starts and who goes back down or gets traded next season. It was a great year!

That salary argument is immaterial. If it takes 200 million to win a world series, that's what you have to spend if you want to win. I don't think that is fair but my invitation to the rules committee meeting got lost in the mail again this year. Other sports have a salary cap that levels the playing field considerably but baseball insists on its status quo, so small market teams like yours suffer. You would think Anheuser Busch might be willing to kick in a hundred million out of their billions dollar ad budget to make the Cardinals more competitive.
Eventually, we may have competing corporate teams with the city name a mere footnote. Or maybe just a guy's name like the Paul Allen Seahawks or the Jerry Jones Cowboys or the Mark Cuban Mavericks. Don't worry though, we'd still have the Toyota Halftime Report showing the Exxon scores on the AT&T scoreboard brought to you by Sprint.

It ain't how much money the team spends; it's how you spend your money. Boston had the second highest payroll in baseball last season and finished last in their division. The Yankees had the highest this year and didn't make the playoffs. Payroll is not a good argument.
