Based on my father's age old recipe of voting for whoever is geographically closer, I find myself in the Boston camp.

I have friends in both cities, so I am torn though!

I am sure it will be a good series, and anyone who was expecting a repeat of the first game is dreaming.

Both games so far have been decided by errors. Keep that in mind as you prognosticate. Anything can happen. If Gomes had made a good throw to the plate, the tying run would not have scored and the stupid pitcher would not have thrown the ball into the stands to allow what proved to be the winning run. But those things did happen - just like the shortstop errors and the fly ball that fell between catcher and pitcher in Game 1.

That's why they play these things out instead of competing on the field of wishful thinking - like we do.

While both games had some errors - neither was decided by them. Sox scored 8 in the first one.  Not near all those were from errors.  Cards scored 3 runs without the wild throw - enough to win.

But if either team keeps making errors like those, it will eventually cost them a game.

Very cool ratso :thumb:   He'll be well received by the fans here.

God forbid he needs help while he's here, if anything comes up, don't hesitate to PM one of us. We'll be there to help him out however we can.

Series tied at 2 :thumb:

Looks like we've got a real battle on our hands between two pretty equal teams.

Gotta say, Ortiz is a friggin' monster :o My hat's off to the guy. Get the ball anywhere near the plate and its a base hit. If I was Matheny, he wouldn't see another ball to hit the rest of the series.

Besides some weird endings to a couple games, looks to be a good series  :thumb:

It's gotten awfully quiet around here. Cards fans are holding their breath fearing the worst. And it does look bad.
Boston fans either don't exist here or are keeping quiet so as not to jinx the team. Some baseball fans are said to be superstitious, after all.

Now that the DH advantage has come and gone uneventfully, the Cardinals have to hope their rookie pitcher can hold serve and take this to a 7th game. I don't think he will. It's time for Boston's lineup to wake up.

I will resubmit that losing the DH is a not NL advantage.  Well at least if he is a serviceable first baseman that's hitting over 700.  8)

I am not really even a baseball fan, I take my girls to a game every year to expose them to some type of pro sport, and frankly they would not sit through a football game (even a Canadian rules football game!), so the Toronto Blue Jays it is.

While I am sure they would love to see a Toronto Maple Leafs game, I won't spend the $500-$1000 that decent tickets would cost until they are older and would be sure to enjoy it more.

As I stated earlier in this thread, I have friends in both cities, but have gone with my Dad's version of picking a team based on geographic proximity.

I hope it goes 7 games, not only will that allow more time for STL fans to see their excellent team play, but frankly Game 7 of any pro final is just an awesome experience for anyone who likes sports at all!

Naahh....We're doing just fine. The teams are just trying to keep it interesting and stretch it out.
