Hi, I've been on the hunt for a decent pre to use with my 7bsst and IB2 setup. I'm just about to pull the trigger on an LS27 (audio research) and wondered if any of you guys had gone from a BP26 to anLS26 or LS 27? I tried a pass labs pre and it was unfortunately a bad match, great detail, but no dynamics, no synergy if you like. What did the Audio Research bring to the table that you prefers over the Bryston Pres? I appreciate that this is a bryston circle, so sorry if I cheese anybody off by not wanting to stick with a BP26.

i vaguely thought the Pass Labs pre was quite low gain. Have you tried setting the 7B to 29dB gain?

I could be totally wrong but worth a try if you haven't already.
