shootout for under 150$ dac
« on: 18 Oct 2013, 05:12 pm »
So slowly it seems i am acquiring lot of stuff...

I am planning to do some shootout between various Under 150$ dac in my house...currently i have

                    1. Lampucera 1.0 ...has been receomended most by Lampucera....(should get it by next week)

                    2. Subbu V3 ...one of the biggest group buy in Diyaudio.....(should get it by next week)

                    3. Open-source USB interface: Audio Widget

                    4. ODAC...

                    5. and last DEQX hDP-3 inbuilt dac...

all of these would have spdif input except audio widget,ODAC....

Now what will be the system is

PC(running MPD linux and getting music from NAS drive) -> M2tech (Usb to spdif) -> DAC ->Deqx Hdp-3 (acting as pure 3 way active XO) ->6 Ncore -> RAAL, scanspeak and AE IB15 DIy speaker

Please let me know if anyone would be interested to know about it...

if some one wants to join(zip code 92618)  and bring there dac that would be awesome too....i really want to compare some High end dac with these units.....before would anyone would be interested to know the results of this

If you can I would test the Schiit Audio Loki and Modi. They are $149 and $99. The Loki is a DSD Dac!

Hm, three of those are based on the same ES chip. Would be good if you got some other ones. I have the French TDA1543 (there's a thread here somewhere) w/ toslink and coaxial input. I can put that in the mail to you if you'd like should only take a day since I'm in Burbank. I don't expect it to be better but it's a different presentation.
