Darn, there go my African Ebony RM40's again

OK guys this is getting a little old :x

I ordered a pair of MLS African Ebony BCSE RM40s in the "sample" order not too long ago.  I then promptly helped a client to the remaining pair.

Well my pair didn't make it past Quality Control and badda bing, no African Ebony RM40s for me

Now the second order will be here in a week and Big B, decides to "give away" cabinets  (well almost) to those who want to upgrade.

The response was overwhelming and guess what.....I think all the African Ebony RM40's are "again" spoken for (I certainly wouldn't put myself in front of you all)

Thank goodness I think Mark is getting ready to ship the next batch soon.

Please remember that this cabinet upgrade is a limited offer and when B, comes to his senses, and realizes he doing the early Santa Claus thing, he will probably "Scrooge" it up a bit.

It certainly makes me happy that you guys will be getting such beautiful cabinets, but I would really like to get a pair myself

Brian pretty much gives these cabinets away and more importantly  he has not forgotten about the early VMPS speakers owners.  This speak volume about VMPS customer cares.

I am checking into shipping cost to and from VMPS to see if it makes sense for me to upgrade to the new cabinet.  It would be a no brainner for me if maple or light wood color are available because my wife wants maple to match our decor.  I am happy with the sound but my wife hates the black color :-(.

This is an amazing deal.  I was talking to a Mad Dog that I wish Brian woulg provide an upgrade program for the new MLS cabinets.    Two days later, BAM , John posts the message.  Shows how much Brian cares for his existing customers and giving them the ability to "upgrade".

I can't wait for the new cabinets, might have to just drive up to the bay area with my speakers, stay with the inlaws for a few days and drive back down with a new pair

Totally agree.

It just sucks being on the East Coast.  Round trip shipping will run me around $1000!!   :o

That turns an extremely affordable offer into a not so affordable one.

George,

If you can find another RM40 owner in NY that's nearby, you might be able to save on shipping if you ship both pairs on the same large pallet  The incremental cost might not be too much.  Just a thought.

John,

Can you post pictures of the Rosewood and African Ebony finishes again? Or just say which is which in your sticky above about the cabinet upgrade - first pic Rosewood, bottom pic African Ebony?

Best
J!

Hi J,

In the Announcement Post, the African Ebony is on top and the Rosewood on the bottom.

Edit: Ooops

Looks like George posted before I refreshed :?

Cool deal shokunin! I guess that saves you on "building" time. :D

Sorry to hear about your own speakers John. One of these days you'll have them...

Upgrade Update for Customers and Dealers
Upgrade Update:

B, has informed me that he can "maximally" upgrade only 3 pair RM40s a month with his current workload and staff.

So first come (order placed) first served.

Additionally, all MLS cabinets are "pre-cut" for FST tweeter so if you have spirals this would mean an upgrade to FST ($400 option)

Dealers, Brian and myself can help you upgrade, but again it is subject to the limitations of stock and production ability.

The cabinet upgrade is not "discountable" through dealers, but all other upgrades performed at the same time are.

Return shipping must be prepaid and it is slightly higher than the regular cabinets since they are a bit heavier.

Look into shipping via Menlo Air.  If you specify a long lead time you might save some money.

No it is just that orders are looking like they may exceed the stock of the arriving cabinets in that finish

But that is a good thing :D

Except for my Music Room :?

The next 20 footer will be ready in just a few days from what I understand...

Trying hard to play catch up with all of the OE orders right now... Factory is now quoting me 40-days...

I'll be back in China at the end of the month to take delivery of some new machinery... We build 'em slow and right... Fast is NOT our game at all... and I'm glad about that...

New Piano Black spray booth is now operating smoothly, and our guys in Finish know what to do to make you all smile ---  :D

More later...

All the best...

Well, looks like I figured out an alternative way to get a pair of 40's in the beautiful African Ebony.

Just need to find out when I will get them.
