Has anyone heard Totem's Element Metal speakers?

I'm a very satisfied Unifield 3 owner, but someone local is selling a pair of Element Metals, and you know how it is...naturally I am curious...

Honestly my impression of this Totems Forest Signature setup  at THE Show (Newport Beach 2013) was really disappointing. They looked very beautiful in their cherry finish though. I had heard about the Totems previously but it was the first time I got to listen to them. I was surprised at how they sounded in spite of such expensive electronics being thrown at them. The problem became apparent  when I had them play a track that I had used as reference for comparison at other rooms (i think it was "Have a Cigar - pink floyd" ). I left the room before the song finished.

If possible, I would highly recommend you try for a side by side comparison with your Uni3s before making any move... and let us know your experience.

Stopped by Stereo Exchange in NYC yesterday and listened a bit to the Element Metals.

Definitely a "bigger" sound. Not sure if bigger translates to better, though.

Also, they're feeding them with all McIntosh gear. I'd want to hear them with my Pass...

now that I've removed all the Dacron from my Unifield 3s, there's a ton more bass.

So I might keep them and switch from the pass x250.5 and to the pass xa60.8 class A amps...

Unifield 3s with mid powered Class A or Tubes is a match made in heaven IMO :)

just curious, has anyone compared the magico s1 to the unifield 3?

I may need something that can fit into a smaller space soon, so i'm curious about the s1
