IMHO, forget all 12AU7s. Try a 12BH7 instead. For something a little better than the 12BH7, try a E80CC/6085. Since you only need one tube, you won't have to worry about pairs and won't have any trouble finding one.

For the 12au7 for my Crack headphone amplifier an Audio Circle member (galyons) that will soldered my Crack for me in exchange of a few dollars will trow in at no charge one or a few 12au7 of various makes.

Hi Jay and all Audio Circle members.
I never got my tubes that were purchased from TC Tubes,
because they were shipped to my wife's nephew in Seattle,
he did confirmed that he received them,
but now, he's waiting for a relative/friend to bring them over here,
might takes a few more weeks,
minds you, around this time many Vietnamese overseas are coming to visit relative
for the Vietnamese Lunar New year which is on January the 31st 2014.
Therefore, I have to be patient.
They say: Patience is a virtue.
