1) From mention at AA, who wants to try these class-D boards? 400w/4ohm, relatively affordable. Anyone know much about the chipset?
http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/amp/messages/50609.htmlhttp://www.hypex.nl/http://www.hypex.nl/classd/classd.PDF2) Presonus Central Station - These look to go for about $495, and unless I'm reading things wrong, could function as a passive preamplifier/volume control, with a ton of inputs, a 24/192 DAC (spec: 117db DR) with two digital inputs, headphone outputs, the ability to switch between three amplifiers (listed as speakers as they are typically active speakers), metering and the ability to set levels, and a seperate, external volume control.
Looks like an intriguing, affordable unit, especially if you have multiple amplifiers and sources, especially PC sources.
Thoughts? Check out the manual more than anything and some of the setup diagrams. Seems like it would be a neat, but extremely flexible passive solution.
