Greetings and please find for sale the venerable, and somewhat renowned:
McCormack DNA 0.5 Power Amplifier.
** Please read description carefully.**
This amplifier is in absolutely excellent as well as immaculate condition. NOW... the crowd cries out in protest, "How can he say claim that!? Just look at the first photo of the Front Face Plate!"
Let me explain. These models were labeled in two fashions: 1) White Decals - which obviously was a bad idea, as they wear off over time, and 2) A Black & Gold, Embossed Metallic Labels - which were adhered to the front of the amp and didn't wear off. Much better. So... Which do you think this is?
With the ONLY exception of the decal, this amp is immaculate. There are NO dents, bumps, bruises, scratches or blemishes that I can find anywhere on the unit. The amp performs flawlessly. NO ISSUES and sounds fantastic. There are obviously three ways to deal with the deteriorating white decal: 1) Forget about it & leave it alone, because the amp is perfect. (That's what I've done.), 2) Contact either SMc Audio (Steve McCormack) or McCormack Audio in Virginia and get yourself a new badge, or 3) Very gently, probably with some soap & water, remove the rest of the white decal and run the amp "stealth." Seriously, I considered it.
If the amp is "perfect" and so great, why am I selling it? Good question. Here's the answer. If you count this amp, I have five (5) of them! The other four I had upgraded to astronomical proportions by Steve at SMc Audio, including two (2) very special DNA 0.5 Monoblocs that were handmade and customized by Steve himself for personal use. By the way, the monoblocs have NO labels whatsoever. Not on the front or the back. This is to say that, without reservation, I believe in these amps. I've held on to this unit for either backup or another upgrade project that's never happened. Like many others, I want to sell off some extra stuff.
Straight up, this is a great Solid State unit. Great reputation. Great reviews. Extremely musical. Simple. Original Box & Manual!
Please find a link from HiFi Engine link with the specs here. You'll notice the the photo on the HiFi Engine page is the same unit with the white decals:
