Okay, saw the concert last night and glad to have been there seeing a guitar god in action.

As was mentioned it was loud, I estimate around 98 to 100 db, a few decibels louder than when I rock out.
Sitting up in the third balcony I brought my binoculars so I was able to see close ups of the guitar work.
Anyway, the ticket lady was wrong the sound does not carry up to the third balcony, just like at the arena. What I think happens is bass waves travel low and higher freq. travel high. The result being the guitar sounded like it was drowning out the drums and bass, not a balanced sound. I could have moved down to a lower level but chose to stay put due to an infection in my 6.

Now I was carefully listening to the soundstage as I was seated smack dab in the middle. I noticed how smooth & even it was across the width of the stage. And how the soundwaves bounced off the walls.
IMO I believed that my stereo is on par with what I heard, live amplified music, without the bass being drowned out. This is with mainly Bryston gear, except for speakers and power conditioner. I could not say this a few years back when I seen Blue Rodeo. My stereo none of which was Bryston at that time, wasn't even in the ball park. When funds permit I plan on getting the Model T's as it does bass right from what I heard demoed.
So although stereo is artificial in nature, with a good recording and Bryston gear, you most definitely can
achieve sound that is on par with the real thing, and you can control the volume.
