Thanks, but I've changed some things around since I posted my systems. Guess I'd better update the page. In the big room at the Farm House, I've replaced the Dunlavy Towers with the big Snell AIIs and moved the Dunlavy speakers into my "In Town" second system. I've made a few changes to my analogue systems in both places, etc. Both John Dunlavy and Peter Snell were audio geniuses, although with slightly different philosophies and sound signatures, I feel that their speakers are incomparable.
Dunlavy and Snell: Amen and amen! The older I get (59 this month) the fewer people know how much impact these two made in high end loudspeaker history. Your description hits the nail on the head. The best single word I can think of to describe the sound from these two is "dramatic" but only in the best sense (the polar opposite of MSM "dramatic" which is pure HM from beginning to end).
My single audition of Duntech Sovereign 2001, moderately small room at the old Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, CES (I think it snowed that year): once the music starts these things get a hold of your cortex and don't let go until the music stops or you leave the room!
Was not John Dunlavy designer or co-designer of the 2001?
