Hi, I'm going for the most liquid, lush, smooth, rich, thick sound possibleand am looking at these DACsConcert Fidelity DAC-040EAR Yoshino DAC 4Synthesis MatrixAudio Horizons TD 3.1Audio Note 4.1 KitLampizator (Big 6?)Could anyone please share impressions of how they differ in sound? Thanks!
Thanks!Which level of Audio Note DACs did you hear, and were they the kits or from the factory? Was the Lampizator a Level 6?
As for the Lampizator, I heard the past two models but not the Level 6. Both editions also had a "house" sound" so I doubt the latest level will sound significantly different in the tonal sense.
You would be dead wrong. I'm not sure if your're speaking of Levels or generations (you say latest levels) but I'll freely admit I didn't love Generation 3 at all, but Generation 4 is a whole new animal. I am also one of 5 Big Six owners in this country and can tell you that the presentation is dramatically different. Its not just more of the same thing. Its based on a NOS chip from the 1980s, is 16bit and every element of its presentation is different. Bass, dynamics, image density, top to bottom purity even staging and positioning from perspective. You very well may not like it, but you can't make assumptions or extrapolations based on other things.
