Factory refreshed

Audio Advisor has some great prices on factory refreshed Bryston equipment. Are these ok? Do they come wth full warranty? Very tempting price on the BP17 but I just got a BP20 that is in super condition, like new with 10 years left on warranty.

James,
Do the BDA-2s come standard with blue or green leds or would I need to contact audio adviser to find out what color on their factory refreshed BDA-2?
Thanks,

James

so what exactly does factory freshened mean? Were these defective units?

How would you compare the sound on the bp 20 to the bp 17especially when playing vinyl?

thanks

Factory refresh are units that went out for review or used at shows and can not be sold as new.  The preamps would sound similar as the phono stage does most of the work.

what about the sound difference from using the BDA 1 via RCA to the 17 . I am using the XLR in the BP20 from the BDA 1 right now. and the Balanced out to my amp.

They are very close ... the BP20 has a more forward presentation.

I prefer the forward idea. Would you say the bp26 is also more forward than the 17. ?

The 20 is great..except for  the fact that it is all manual and I gotta watch the static electricity from my rug... LOL

Unfortunately ,I guess unless I can read some persuasive info , I will have to let that great deal go. Too bad, full 20 year warranty too..ouch!

No Bryston dealers nearby, and the  ones in  my region never return calls, so no way to compare.

Would the bp 20/25 make the 4B sst SQ sound more forward. I get the impression from past posts that the 4b SQ is a bit recessed sounding. (too laidback perhaps) My currant amp, the 4b ST, puts me in the "front row" where I prefer to be. Thanks ...... :

Which Bryston pre-amp models require the MPS-2 power supply?

When browsing used Bryston pre-amps, I never know if they require the MPS-2 or not.

I believe just the BP26...you can have a BP20 and BP25 upgraded so it will work with a MPS-2 but you must buy the power supply first from an authorized dealer from what I understand.

The power supply is also 'required' for the BP-1.5 phono box.
One reason for me to buy both The Bryston BP-26 and the Bryston BP-1.5 was the power supply could be shared.
