Audio research cd 9 dac and high res

Does anyone own or has heard the Audio Research CD 9?

It appears they are finally joining the high res game - at least with the dac

I haven't heard it, but why do you say finally?  Audio Research has had hirez DACs for some time, including their DAC8, Reference DAC, etc.
