Most of us have been plagued with insidious electrical noise from time to time. It can drive you bonkers. I moved into a new place about 10 months ago and just last week I noticed a hum from my speakers. I've dealt with this before so I was pretty sure what the problem was.
I am no electrician, I am just sharing my experience here. At the moment I do not have my cable tv integrated into my sound system, however cable shares the same circuits and power distribution (ps audio duets) as my other sources. I was pretty sure the problem was coming from the cable coax. I ve had the same issue in other systems and with sat tv as well. I had this holland unit on hand and for some reason did not install it on the system when i moved in. just plug it into you box where the coax comes in and your done. hum gone, no affect in picture (i think it improves it). all for around $14
I know there are other products which can deal with other causes of noise problems, I just wanted to say for my problem in my system, this was an effective and economical fix. Hope it helps someone out there!
