"Blown" speaker question

If a speaker is "blown", does it sound bad all the time or is it possible to sound normal at times? This is not a GR Research speaker. It's actually on my Harley, but I know there are knowledgable people here that's why I asked here. Thanks.

There are several things that can go wrong with a woofer that will allow it to continue to play, but make a little noise when played very hard.
