Kim, price is best discussed via PM.

Tho I must say that this is a great price for this preamp. Very tempting.

Posting a message on a public board is not considered a Private Message (PM), but you have some good questions that would be helpful if answered for the public. :thumb:

Good questions. Photos added.

Black color, excellent condition (see pics), remote included.

3 year old. Second owner, bought from local audiophile friend, who was original owner. I owned it for about 1.5 year.

Best price is what the Minister of Finance will approve. :thumb: But I believe my asking price is a pretty good price.

Yeah, count me as tempted. That 6moons review was a great one on this unit.

Doh! No Tape Loop. That probably rules me out. I use the tape loop in my preamp so I can easily switch my Dual Core 2.0's DSP processing in and out when I listen to vinyl. Shucks.

What is the cost of the upgrade to the SE version?

I believe it's $400 to upgrade this unit to the standard STP-SE version. Pretty good deal considering that aside from the upgraded parts and labor, they will also look over the unit.

And it should be noted that the 6moons rave review was for the STP, not the upgraded SE version.

According to the 6 Moons review, the upgrade is $200 at the time of the review. Also, the manufacturer's reply indicates the review unit was actually the SE version. I've had mine now for about 2 weeks and love it! :thumb:

SOLD. Thanks, Doug! Enjoy!

Turned out, unbeknownst to everyone, my unit is actually the SE version! Spoke to W4S, who found that out when they opened up the unit to do the upgrade.

Apparently it is not an uncommon happening. So guys, start looking for a regular STP and you may score a STP-SE at a great price like Doug.

No wonder my STP sounded so good in my system.   :D
