Paging Mr. Jim Salk... Amp Stands?
« on: 5 Aug 2013, 03:35 am »
So I'm shopping around looking for a reasonable amp stand (decided on a pair of XPA-1's and dont want to leave them on carpet) and it hit me.

My spiked bases for my HT3's would make a pretty killer amp stand, if they were bigger.

So have you ever been asked to make amp stands?

Something you are interested in? If not any recommendations?

Sure we could do that.  Plinths run $100.  The HT3 spikes are $25 each.  It could be done with either 6 spikes (more stable) or 8 spikes if you wanted them in the four corners.  All we would need is the size and the number of spikes desired.

These are all custom, so you can have basically whatever you want. The prices above are for satin black.  But if you want a custom veneer, for example, the price would be adjusted to compensate accordingly.  Shipping is not normally included in our pricing since we don't know what the finished package size or weight will be on something that is custom.

As for size or weight restrictions, there wouldn't be any for this type of thing.

Why not just draw by hand exactly what you want (unless you have CAD) and send it to Jim and let him quote what you want.  I highly doubt that square corners or rounded will cost any different.

If they're $100 he can sell a ton of them.  That's an absolute bargain!

Whatever you want, we can probably build.  As indicated above, this is completely custom work.  So feel free to design anything you want.  We'll then discuss options with you and price it out.

Jim,

In my line of work I get 3% commission or at least a referral fee for sending business.

Obviously I've come up with an awesome idea............. partner.

Hmmm...I just might have to buy some additional electronics so I can buy one, too.  Will they yield the new Salk logo?
