speaker help
« on: 26 Jul 2013, 12:44 am »
Hello,

I picked up Altec Lansing Studio 15 speakers from my in-laws. They have been sitting around forever. I got around to setting them up today. The tweeter horn is not working on one of the speakers. Any ideas before I have them worked on. Are they known for going bad, in which case I would just change them out. Also, who does good speaker work in the area. One of drivers might need a refoam, or I might try that myself.

Thanks,
Herb.

Scott F.

Hey Herb,

the local 'go to' guy for all things Altec is Lloyd Faulkner over in O'Fallon Mo. He's right off Hwy K. He'll have any replacement diaphragms you might need for the horns and he can also refoam the woofer for you. You can also get diaphragms from Great Plains Audio down in Oklahoma.

Thanks Scott, I'll call him next week when I'm back in town.

times 2 on Lloyd Faulkner. I've seen hundreds of drivers refoamed by him and every one has been flawless.
