Hi all,
I am in the market of getting a preamp.  Someone suggested me to go for the one which has a balanced to make use of the Bryston's balance input if the bryston true balanced design.   Do you guys know if Bryston is true balanced ?  If not why it has a balanced port at the back ?
Also, if the Bryston is true balanced, would it be affecting the sound quality if I do biamping setup with a second amp which has no balanced input ?  My concern is one amp is balanced and the other amp is single ended RCA, it may cause any tonal mismatch ?

The amp connected with a balanced interconnect may have a lower noise floor and will have an extra 6dB of gain but shouldn't sound tonally different (unless different amp models are used).

A balanced interface benefits in reducing ground loops and ground interaction between components. If the ground currents are modulated by the music the tonality is basically affected.

It is common to use a single ended driver and a balanced input stage as you still get some common mode rejection and this ground isolation.

I don't know where the desire for true balance comes from, as the Bryston piece linked above refers too. I don't know if there is a commercial product that meets those requirements or why you would want one.

Yes all Brystron balanced circuits are true differencial balanced circuits.
