Big distinction between OB and dipole, IMO. The Linkwitz models are; most all of the others are not.
That is a very general statement and I cannot agree with it at all. From Wikipedia under "dipole speaker" :"The term dipole derives from the fact that the polar response consists of two lobes, with equal radiation forwards and backwards, and none perpendicular to the axis."
Now if you want to make a distinction between the radiation pattern of the sound field created by different dipole speakers that is a different discussion.
Equal radiation front and back and a null at 90 degrees, baffle width or shape are not included in this simple definition...
