I have an absolutely wonderful LampizatOr Generation 4/Level 4 DAC which was just built for me in April of 2013. This blemish free unit is priced to sell and will arrive to its new owner as if purchased brand new, but without the annoyance of burn in.
This DAC is flat out incredible and by far the best digital I have ever heard. I liked but not loved the Generation 3/Level 3 I owned before this unit, but this current gen level 4 is something REALLY special and much, much better then Generation 3's offerings.
I'm selling this incredible DAC for one reason; the fact that I have a much costlier LampizatOr "Big Six" being finalized for me as I write this, which is being purchased on blind faith based on how good this Level 4 is.
My upgrades include:
Jensen PIO caps;
Tungsram ECC40s (best of this tube type);
Furutech IEC inlet and fuse;
Third digital input (RCA spdif, Toslink and AES/EBU) for all connectivity needs; and
Custom solid state rectification which Lukasz liked so much he has made a factory option.
Compared to a normal Gen 4/Level 4 mine has slightly better bass impact, a silkier more extended treble, a touch more midrange detail and an even more relaxed presentation.
Digital has truly arrived with the LampizatOr and this DAC prompted me to let go of my Kuzma Stabi S/Stogi S turntable and Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood cartridge and I do not miss them!!!
