I listed this collection a couple years ago for $10K. I'm visiting NYC again, eager to clear out my storage space, and have dropped the price to $2K/best offer.

***************************************

I bought this collection of roughly 1000 classical LPs from an elderly gentleman several years ago when he was preparing to move to California after his wife's death. (I also bought his rig, an Oracle Delphi with Van Den Hul MC One Special, which I sold shortly thereafter. I also bought his nitty gritty record cleaner, which I still have in storage). This is a large collection of LPs from a learned and distinguished architect with refined taste and clean habits, a true gentleman. Many labels, styles, and eras are represented.

The original owner had been a classical music DJ in college in the late 1940s and was highly experienced and capable in the playing and maintaining of LPs. He began his collection in 1950 or so and transitioned to mostly CDs around 1985. He took exceptionally good care of his music and created a three-volume database of his LPs and CDs (which he included when I bought his LPs). I visually graded each LP and estimate 75% to be NM-, 20% to be VG+, and 5% to be VG.

My plan was to keep these records in my climate-controlled storage space until I moved back to NYC, but it's looking increasingly less likely that I'll be moving back anytime soon, so I've decided to clear out my space, and that means it's time for me to reluctantly part with this wonderful collection.

If I had more time I might sell these individually or in small lots, but that's not possible right now, and so this collection is offered only as a complete lot . My guarantee to you (check my feedback on a'gon as "bassface") is that I have not gone through and cherry-picked the most desirable titles. This gentleman's collection is presented 100% complete, which you can cross-check against his database. There are a few rock records that belonged to his wife which I'm keeping, but you'll get every single classical record, every bit of his collection.

Logistics: The records are housed at my safe storage facility in the Bronx near The Bruckner Expwy. The building has a freight elevator and large carts, so moving the LPs will be easy although you'll probably want to bring a helper. You'll need a van--the records won't fit into any regular car or station wagon--and you'll want to bring some extra boxes for moving them.

To paraphrase: this is a carefully-cared-for lifetime-collection of a discerning classical music lover, someone who really knew his stuff and took good care of it. Offered for $6K/best offer.   I'm in town for a couple weeks at least, maybe longer, and would like to get these sold ASAP. Thanks for looking.

Thank you for all the comments so far...

However, did you all read my ad?

These are not generic LPs in the goodwill bin.  This is the complete collection of a classical music expert, played by only him on an audiophile rig, and properly stored.

I'm looking for the right buyer I suppose.  Someone who appreciates the provenance and quality of this lot, who for a modest investment would like to own an excellent classical collection.

Also, my price is /best offer.
