That seems impressive to me. If I had an extra room that needed a 5.1, that looks like a great deal.

Some people are suggesting that they're re-branded paradigm speakers.

Even if they are white label Paradigms, that is not all bad either.

I looked here in Canada, but the package was still $309. Too much for a buddy of mine that for sure would have bit on $199.

Two of my neighbors have this and it is very good for the money. The sub and the center channel are the weak links, but in a small room, they are very good. They paid $329 about 2 years back from newegg.

While browsing at Newegg (I should know better...) I found a potentially really cool box that uses a cable card from your cable provider to put cable channel access on your home network. I ordered one of these as well.

Be careful about the subwoofer amp though. There have been a lot of complaints recently about buzzing from the su woofer. The recent slew of bad reviews make me a bit gun shy about these.

It's baaaaack through 10/14/2013, but now at $170 with free shipping. After living with the system for a few months, I'm pretty impressed with what it delivers at this price point. I use full range Martin Logan towers for L & R (another Newegg blowout special) which frees up the extra speakers for 7.1.

Friend just ordered as a result of my advising him of this thread and the new super low price. He just wanted something cheap and make shift and to eventually use as a secondary bedroom system. Will arrive Wednesday and should know by next weekend if its any good.
