" The manufacturer (not Bryston) is only based in Canada and has no authorized US repair facilities."
*****
James will correct me if I'm not accurate  but  my experience with Bryston repair in the US,the gear is sent to the Bryston facility in VT.  Analog products are/may be repaired there, digital equipment is transported across the border by Bryston to Canada and then shipped back to the owner.

Steve

Sorry about any confusion. I was not talking about Bryston above. Just referring to a different company from Canada.

Hey Man shit happens. Obviously it was an oversight. Yes a bummer for you about shipping costs, however maybe contacting Bryston first for a solution might have been prudent. My 2 cents.

Absolutely, he should have contacted Bryston first for a solution instead of venting for the world to see. Bryston has done memorable things for all us folks and everyone talks very highly of their service and support. This was in poor taste to expose Bryston this way on what appears to be an oversight.

The OP expressed what he wanted fixed and it didn't happen. I understand his frustration. I would be upset also if I specified what I wanted done and it didn't happen. I think the OP is happy with his equipment but is frustrated about the repairs not being preformed as requested. The problem that I see is that it may cause the OP to look at other manufacturers in the future unless there is an agreeable
solution between both parties.

Again, then you contact Bryston.  It would be different if he was venting because it was a manufacturer that doesn't answer the phone, return voicemails or respond to emails.  But as most everyone knows, that's not the case with Bryston.

If you were part of this site for many years like most of us here and knew how Bryston is as a manufacturer, you would have understood my quote above.

I've also been on here for a few years plus I know Bryston(perhaps more than a few).
I see nothing negative if something is wrong or whatever as I've known for a lonnng time that Bryston makes things right.
If someone feels that a person shouldn't vent or complain, then they can kiss mah a_ _ or their own.
For the few that really have to know, the 28's were sent back and I offered to pay half the shipping.
Mike said no it was a mistake that was made and they were going to make it right, which he did.
Also just so a few know how far Bryston will take it,Mr. Russell was going to fly here when my 28's were over heating(bias)as one of my audio stores didn't really know how long it took to set the bias properly(approx 3days)not a few hours which was a couple of yrs.ago.
Maybe this thread will peter out, unless theres still some ..... that wanted keep whinning.
