Anybody using Slim Server 7.2.2
« on: 26 Jun 2013, 12:02 pm »
Hello All

I downloaded and installed Slim Server from the Logitech squeezebox site.

Now the formatting - meaning the layout of the screens are all gone. When I select An Album and select it track to play it just goes on to give more details of the track and am not able to play from the web control. Anybody using Slim Server the latest version 7.2.2.

I am using SB2 and it is painful to navigate using the remote.

Thanks

I quit using the "factory" software altogether. I'm using "Orange Squeeze" and controlling it via my Android device.
Hopefully that's helpful??

Thanks Bob. I have to try that. Looks like not getting away from the server sw itself which is installed on my laptop. I stopped using it for general purpose and was beginning to use it as a dedicated server for my squeezebox.

I have had it for a couple of years now and there is always one issue or the other popping up. Now it could be becaus eof my ignorance also. Just goes to say PoP that disc in and enjoy your music.

Will keep trying though  :duh:

I am running 7.7.2. Over the years I have had a couple of instances where thing went a little odd after a version upgrade. You may have done this already but I found that uninstalling LMS and re-installing it usually cleared things up. Once I had to delete the squeezebox directory after the uninstall also.

Bob,

Tell us more about Orange Squeeze please!
Sure, I LOVE IT:thumb:

They have a free version >HERE<, and a $2.99 version >HERE<.
These are for Android, I have no experience with Apple versions.
It's a great program, I highly recommend it. I've had some source issues (not related to "Squeeze"), so my system has been inoperable for some time now. I had just gotten good at using the interface when things went down, so I can't get too specific with questions about Orange Squeeze. However, I liked it much more than the Squeeze Commander (or whatever the factory app is called).

Hope that helps,
Bob

I am using 7.2.2 now.  It is loaded on a netbook, with 2TB of FLAC attached.

I no longer own any Slim devices, but use a hacked Pogoplug as my player.

I use iPeng on an iTouch to control the server.

Been running trouble free since I set it up around 6 weeks ago.

I tried both Orange Squeeze and Squeeze Commander and much prefer the latter. I mainly use my Kindle Fire with Squeeze Commander for controlling my Squeezeboxes (2 Touches, 1 SB3 and a Radio). Can't help with the 7.2.2 version. I use the latest Vortexbox OS which runs LMS and have zero problems.

Do you actually mean version 7.7.2 of what is now called "Logitech Media Server"?

Personally, I'd run the latest of LMS 7.8 instead:

Where has your screen formatting changed? On the Squeezebox 2, when you use the remote?

Running 7.7.2 with no issues, LMS and Touch.  Try to delete the whole thing and reload.  Then clear the cache and see what you have.

If you were using a previous version there is only classic now for formatting/background.

Not a lot of difference. Mostly bug fixes, plus a small change that I mention here.
