Maybe I'm unimaginative, but rectangular has always worked for me!

Nice and square. If you wanna fancy it up a little you can radius the corners and edges slightly. I want them 17" wide, like practically every other component I own. Making the thing large enough to fit standard binding posts would be mucho appreciated. And hold the silver colored plastic casework, please. I'll take mine in basic black.

Uh, and I don't really need any cheesy blue light bars or anything.

I think it was Dmason that calls it his "digital love barge" or something to that effect!

In all fairness, I think the new Panny is a little more conventional. I just like a good conspiracy!

I agree, I've seen a '45, it's not a good look. Maybe it's meant to make a bulky component look "slim" ??

The sucky thing is if they went for "Rebecca Romaijn" slim instead of "Collista Flockhart" slim they could fit some friggin' 5-way binding posts on it!

OK, I know that you are talking about a receiver, and this is far from it, but hey, they are black NOW!.

Yeah, that's what happens when I get ahold of equipment that is cheap, but not black. It gets made black.

In the third pic, you can see the real binding posts, and real rca inputs that these 3 channel amps have. Sorry for the blurry, on my way out.

Too bad about the silly blue LED, I hope to move that to the bottom of the chassis, when I replace the faceplates with granite.

The JVC isn't the prettiest thing to look at, but it has one great feature: you can turn off the display completely, including the annoying blue LED bar. If you press a button on the remote it comes back on briefly and then turns off again. Great thinking on JVC's part there.

The Honorable Member from Burlington gets my vote. That is too funny, my sentiments exactly where justified, black: when I was at Home Depot today I picked up a big can of black Crilon, which I will use to turn the JVC RX-F10 BLACK. Crilon is a chemical wonder of surfactant technology: it spreads itself around and you get this wonderful almost automotive quality finish. Nice, onyx-smooth, high end, stealth....black.

So to Mr. Babcock I say that by nightfall my JVC will be both 17" wide and black, as well. World's best sounding sounding barge.

Yes, black sounds better! No, really though, I figure this is a rough and tumble little unit, nothing pretentious about it, so truck bedliner black it is for me - as a side (and likely entirely horse pucky scientifically) thought, the paint remains somewhat soft and rubbery, so I liken it to a viscous sheet of Dynamat, applied all over!

Not something I would have done to my Sugden, but hey, it was already my colour of choice!

Geez,I thought if they made the Pannies any smaller they would disappear. One of the reasons I bought one was I liked the low profile which would not take up any room.

My other components look like TANKS! B&K and an old Philips CD-80 which weighs like 50Lbs. Great CDP though as it betters the Panny F65 for Redbook.

The TEAC's do look a bit big for a modern Digital component.

I like Linn stuff for appearance.

How about this 90lb anchor (Denon 5805)?

Oh yeah, it will go for $6K and have 10 built-in amplifiers and 16 channels @ 170 WPC/ 8 ohms each!!
