Any impressions about this cable?   Currently, I'm using SPDIF but am interested in the AES option.

Thanks.

Ditto. James suggested this connection and cable, and his recommendation has been fulfilled: superb clarity and power.

Thank you, all.   I've found it interesting that Bryston also prefers stock power cables on their equipment.  Perhaps the filtration is built into the equipment and the PC doesn't need to provide it.  Is it all about adequate power supplies?

I find that Bryston amps can benefit from good aftermarket power cords but do seem to be less susceptible to the effects of these cords in comparison to some other power amps. Selection is important as some well regarded well built, and expensive aftermarket power cords can actually make your Bryston amps, and other amps for that matter, sound worse than the stock cords. I was using an older Shunyata Taipan Alpha but switched to a Black Mamba HC and found the improvement worthwhile.

I had my doubts about after market power cables but I was able to obtain a new Cardas Clear at a terrific price so I bought it.  I've only put a few hours on it but I can already tell that it improves depth and bass.  I expect the bass to tighten up and more overall improvement.

The point is that my 4BSST2 sounds noticeably better with the Cardas vs. the stock cable even with little break-in.

Now the question is would my Bryston front end components sound better if they were plugged into a FIT IS-5 even if they kept their stock power cables?

The problem with that is that your brain always gets in the way, which is what it's there to do!   ;)

Most of all it's the soundstage, presence, separation, swing on the Music.  :thumb:
Over all I think it's the type of connection... Not really sure.. There is much more to offer then other types of digital connections.
I'm sure as well it depends on the type of equipment being used.
