very tempting to install in my Basie.  I have a couple of questions.

Would I have to drill a hole in the faceplate to mount the board?  Maybe I could take out the LED and put the sensor there?

Also, what would be the best way to power it in the Basie?

Would you consider making a 10k version?  

Is the pot that comes with the kit decent?  Are there better
ones available that can fit into this kit?

Vinnie R:   It could be used with most motorized pots.   You can buy the board without the pot and source a 10K pot elsewhere.   Alps has a minimum 150 unit order (and 10-12 week delivery time) so we don't have the cash to stock several different values.   I bought some surplus motorized pots to get us started and after those are gone we will probably standardize on 50K for our stock.  

The Alps pots are very good.   In terms of pots they are very well made with good specs.   They are used by many companies in high-end audio.   In terms of better..... like anything in audio it depends on your frame of reference and pocketbook.
