Sony XDR-F1 with analog mods SOLD
« on: 6 Jun 2013, 08:06 pm »
Ironic to find one of these in Canada but I bought two because of their dx-ing capabilities allowing me to pick up Seattle stations in Victoria. One of the most sensitive and selective tuners ever made. This tuner has some of the clearest and most noise free FM/AM you will hear thanks to its unique noise reduction circuitry, the ability to suck a signal like no other - rivaling or exceeding my Magnum signal sleuth (sensitivity)- great for dx'ers, impressive rejection of adjacent signals (selectivity) and full remote control.
In standard configuration signal reception is all digital which some people find sonically inferior. This tuner has been professionally modified to permit analog reception by some internal mods activated by using a toggle switch on the rear panel. When engaged a light is lit on the front panel to indicate analog mode There are other mods available but this seems to be the most cost effective. I will include a copy of the service manual in pdf format if you want to delve further into this .
This one is in my second system so has low hours and is in very good cosmetic shape.
Located in Victoria BC but easily shipped to US via post office ( cheapest) with tracking. Payment by PayPal or electronic funds transfer in Canada. Lots of feedback on other audio sites. Comes with box, remote, manual and Panasonic AM loop antenna if desired. Shipping at a flat rate of $20 double boxed with tracking.
