I'll have to go with Bagpipes/Uilean Pipes (sp?) and like Phil, the Harpsichord. I think the reason is that these instruments have a purely monochromatic timbre and have little variation in volume which greatly adds to their monotonous sound.

Yes, and soprano sax does remind me of Kenny G no matter how many times I listen to Coltrane's "My Favorite Things"
