newly dating an old flame

At least it feels like it.  I finally sent my AVA4i to Frank for the buffer upgrade (and replacement of the damned old switch) and for the last week have been amazed at what talents the old girl had left.
Bass notes are more detailed and POWERFUL and the detail in the midrange keeps amazing me.  I didn't know what some of my music sounded like.  A Melody Gardot cd that I have heard many times was incredible with the new buffers.  Last nite it was the reissued Graceland LP.  All the voices of the background singers were seperate, rather than massed.

Frank, why didn't you tell us how good this upgrade was?  Oh, wait, you did.  Sorry. Thanks.   :)

PS When I finally hit the lottery, I'm coming to MN to shop.  I don't know where my 4i would stand on the AVA panthenon of preamps, but the top one must be incredible.

Oh..... I thought you were talking about something else. I was ready to say " I strongly advise against it" haha
In your case, however, I say "Have fun".
