not doing a review yet -

initial impressions -
build quality(outside)-holy shit batman this thing is built like a tank with great fit and finish, way more than it should be for 300$.havent opened it up yet.

looks-

sound-no bass :( smooth top end and vocals are great,it has less than 20 minutes on it and the bass is starting too appear.has depth and big stage already(very good sign)

this is a great unit for mods i reckon   the volume control appears to work very well-so far i only tried it hooked to my pre and did a volume sweep and it never sounded lost or funky -very clean and smooth.

ny sound was a pleasure to deal with also, came double packed very well-3/4 inch styrofoam between the 2 boxes.even ups would have a hard time damaging it with this packageing.

Looks like a great deal. Is that Korsun Amp the one that was being discussed on another thread recently? Somebody was saying that Red Rose rebranded some Chinese amp and I think that was the name. I'm just trying to figure out what this company has to do with New York. And why is a Chinese company with New York in it's name selling Philly amps and preamps (at least they used to be called Phily Audio). This is very confusing.
That CD player looks very tempting. Rosconey, can't wait for your review.

display-best ive ever seen on a player regardless of cost, shows track, time left and has a counter that shows how many songs are  on the disc and deletes the numbers as it plays(very kool, shows all numbers 1-16)has 3 dim possitions, bright, low and off .

warm up light-yup just what it says, light blinks till unit is ready to play then goes off.

very quiet drive and smooth well built tray, orange lights on bolth sides of the tube -LETS GO ORANGE, oops sorry its not hoops season yet.
gold plated rca jacks(had plastic boots for shipping on them)stock interconects are gold plated also and kinda thick.

bass is better today, has about 6  discs thru it so far

i just opened it up :o all nice parts as advertised solen caps , audio grade everything else(i know because they are labeled so-lol)  one tube by rca outs  , the one in the window is for looks 8) -the tube inside by the rca jacks says 6922 the other one is clean.
it has heat sinks up the wazzooo, 7 or so that area bout 2 sq inches with side fins and 3 more about 1/3 that size(all anodized red),big board is labeled so a modder can have a easier time. not sure but looks like 3 transformers, one under a can about 4" diameter, one on the side of the chasis about 2.5" diameter and a small one next to it about the size of a half dollar.
wish i had a camera for some pics

for about 3 times the price of a toshiba 3950 it is built about 20 times better.

btw bass has arrived -and it is very solid

Korsun is the brand that Mark Levinson found over in China while touring there (not sure if that is true...about the touring)...anyway...

He had them change out some parts for higher quality pieces but the basic design is identical to what he sells here as "RED ROSE".  He just had it relabeled for sale over here and handled the marketing, etc.

I was thinking about the Redrose stuff and what makes it so speacial to have $100 worth of different parts that you or I could XO .

You would get that great warranty though. I would save the $$ and buy the stock unit. If she goes you can always replace it 10X over. By the time it goes there will be something better for less $$ I bet anyway.
