I have to wonder what happened to the original title, about making an "entrance."Seems to me the "entrance" should be just a line or two that grabs you and makes a point that pulls you in to the rest of the story. It's been great to read the lyrics, especially the poetry of the song about winter, but "....just seventeen....", "Puff, the Magic Dragon, Lived by the Sea," etc., have the "hook."Maybe I'm just focusing or opening chords or phrases that are burned into my somewhat shaky memory, but making and entrance should leave one wanting more. Kinda like a smile from a pretty woman, IYKWIM. Just my five cents, adjusted for inflation.
Unbutton your collar and relax, it is all good.Jim
I can't. I'm wearing a t-shirt.

Can really learn something from the songs people like....Jim
Now, back to great opening lines (not entire lyrics)...
you should listen to the whole thing. That song kicks ass.
Indeed it does, but the opening lyric grabs you before you even know it's going to be a great song. That called "Making and Entrance"......and another by Gordon Lightfoot-The legend lives on from the Chippewa on downOf the big lake they called 'Gitche Gumee'The lake, it is said, never gives up her deadWhen the skies of November turn gloomy
