trusted techs east gta

a friend has an older 3b with 1 channel functioning. im fairly certain the problem is the power switch. shipping it to bryston would probably cost $100 likely more than the cost of the repair. he is in the beaches in toronto. would appreciate recommendations for local repair

I'd be surprised if the shipping was that much from TO to Peterborough, I have used FedEx Ground in the past and found them very reasonable.

Yah i can never get any where in the car trying to follow directions. I can remember one time i was driving from Saskatoon to Brandon. I came across a sign that said "Brandon left". I thought " geez Brandon must not be there any more" so i turned around and went home.

This happens to me all the time.

As Peterborough is only a couple of hours away, I would drive my amplifiers to Bryston if they ever required service - no one could possibly service them better, and besides, James may even buy me a coffee.

I don't think it's too hard to replace that switch.  Open up the amp and have a look, I think it takes a #10 Torx wrench.  If it isn't too difficult, call Bryston and have them send you a switch.  I had the switch replaced recently on an old 4B and I think the bill with return shipping to Arizona was about $150.
