Monoprice have a reputation of buiding products for cheap, i know the headphones.

What about their bookshelf speakers?

I really like the wall mount tab with the rear port. It's a nice touch.

Looks good for dorm room or garage.

Mono price is making it way to easy to experiment with DIY projects.  Like self powered speakers, or maybe even speakers with a built in Rasberry pi music server?   I'm curious to hear a set of their powered monitors.

Yes - they look nice for a spare room, garage or even surrounds.  The wall mount tab is a great touch
