It's been so long since I read the book(s) that I'm willing to forgive a lot of differences between my memory and the film.
I enjoyed the movie, the effects were pretty awesome, I think we tend to take them for granted these days and only realize what we've just watched on a second look. I couldn't really put it on my favourites list but it's worth renting and watching on a decent system. Nice exercise for the subs too.
However... on the subject of accents AGAIN, I would add NZ to the list of accents that any self-respecting actor, no matter how good, should add to their list of "just don't do it it's not worth it"s. It just makes them look silly. And I really do like Kingsley. In this regard, I just don't get it. (Again)
