My thoughts:
1. Clean and tidy construction
2. $2200 for a Class A/B 80W/channel solid state amplifier is a little pricey, even if it's smaller than most
3. It's fan cooled
4. No specs listed for 4 Ohm operation (and is it 2 Ohm stable?)

Burson are known for their good value units, hard to beat in their price range. I think its too early to judge it, better to wait and see how it stands against other similar/more expensive gear.
R&D expenses are a lot (there are hours or even years of hard work, also companies make prototypes prior to the launch of a product) after all audio equipment are not toothbrushes
If you are a cheap guy like me you can DIY.
