Apple Remote App Issue
« on: 7 May 2013, 03:03 am »
I have one big complaint about the Apple Remote app, but maybe it has something to do with the way I have the app/iTunes set up.  When I do a search by artist and then pick an album, the app will put ALL of the songs by that artist in the queue for playback.  It's not a big deal if I only have one album or if I pick the last album by that artist.  But let's say I pick "A Hard Day's Night," which is the first of 14 albums I have of The Beatles, all 14 albums will go into the queue.  Is there a setup preference that I'm missing that'll let my play only the album I picked?  Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't found any setting to control that.  In fact, mine works a bit different.  When I choose Artist > Album and select a song, I always get exactly 21 songs to play from the first several albums (1 playing and 20 in the queue).

It seems like you should be able to select one song or one album, but I can't find any way to do that.  The Remote app seems to be a letdown with that method of choosing songs.

iTunes 11.0.4.4 for Windows
iOS 6.13 (10B329)
Remote v3.0.1

The latest version of the remote app is a turd. Earlier generations were able to do exactly what you desire. I find it irritating as well and have found no solutions.

I finally ditched iTunes and the remote app in favor of JRiver 18 and JRemote. I can't believe how screwed up iTunes 11.1 handles podcasts..

I decided not to upgrade to iTunes 11. Seems like a good choice based on all the issues that I have heard about it. My remote app seems to work fine.

I switched away from listening to Podcasts in iTunes a couple of years ago.

The Remote app is still a dream as is ITunes compared to the past.  I presume this is something they will fix.....
