Maintenance of VS Speakers
« on: 5 May 2013, 08:36 pm »
Dear Subject Matter Experts,

Read from other sites/magazines that to maintain the sound quality of the speakers, it is a good practice to tighten the screws on the drivers periodically - however none of these sources mentioned exactly how long is that.

My question:  Do we need to do this for VS Speakers?

Please advise  :)

For VSA models VR-5 and up, the drivers are floated on a proprietary damping clay compound. I would not tighten any of these screws.

For other models a twist to a firm but not tight fit wouldn't do any harm.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the reply.

If the Anni is made in 2010/11 (the one will added thick wall treatment, very heavy model), is it mounted on the damping clay?

Anytime John  :D

What I would do periodically is tighten the lock washers on your bass module spikes and also check the tightness of the MT modules' rubber spikes. Once a year should be okay. :)
