I finally got around to playing with Marchand active crossover.  Something seemed missing until I realized that the passive crossover is still in place.   I looked inside the bottom woofer.  Am I suppose to disengage the two jumpers on the board behind the toggle switch?  If so, what is the best way to disengage them since they seem to be soldered?  Thanks in advance and I am on this board to ask since I am assuming that BC is on vacation through next week.

My understanding is that the large coil (about the size of your fist) also has to be either shunted out or one end cliipped -- but I do not know which. We may have to wait unti Bryan returns to find out.

Brian,

Using the picture of my RM40 please explain what I need to do to disengage the passive crossover between the woofers and the ribbons.  What do I have do to take out the toggle switch as well?  Or is that done if you take the crossover out?

By the way, I really wanted to ignore JC and keep the subs that fell out of the sky into my lap (TIC)  I just got confirmation that those arrived at the correct destination.

To disable the crossover in the subs, short the coil input to the coil output.

To remove the toggle from the circuit, short lug 1 to lug 2 (center left) and lug 4 to lug 5 (center right).
