I bought a pair of Polk Audio RTi8 speakers at Circuit City yesterday for $169 each, new in the box. These retail for $840 a pair. Tall floorstander with two 6 1/2" woofers and a 1" silk dome tweeter. They have only been playing for a day but already sound very promising. In fact, I'd say they would be a great deal at full list price. At a close out price of $169 each, they might be the best deal in the universe. Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone was looking for decent full range speakers but had little cash to work with.

I saw your post over at audioasylum too. Do you happen to know if this sale was just at that particular Circuit City or if it's at all of them? I checked the website, and they're still listed for $600 or so.

Not sure. I bought them at my local store in Catonsville Md. I asked the guy why they were so cheap and he said they were closing them out to make way for the new "monitor" series.
