Opinions regarding Thomas Mayer amps
« on: 24 Apr 2013, 03:05 am »
I'm interested in switching to tube amplification which I think are a better match for my high sensitivity (96-98dB) speakers. A friend who builds his own amplifiers has recommended Mayer's amps, even though he hasn't heard them in person. I was wondering what others thought who have actually owned them. The new lower priced SET monoblock designs look especially intriguing.

I have used Thomas Mayer's 6n7 front end circuit to modify my amp, big improvement. I have no doubt his amps sound great.
FYI. I use Intact audio nickel interstage transformers for the circuit instead of Lundahl.
