Wll be attending the Opeth concert on Thursday night.  It's in a small venue and should be good.  My first concert in over twenty years.

At the Town Ballroom?  Great venue!  Seeing Steven Wilson there Sunday night...
Are you from Buffalo?

Yes, the venue is the Town Ballroom.    Katatonia will be playing before  Opeth.   I'll be driving up from the Jersey shore.  I need a 5:30 AM wake up.  Dam that's early.

jd - Milford3 is coming up with for the Katatonia/Opeth concert, I've lived in a suburb of Buffalo since '89.  In addition to the concert we're going to do some major listening and evals on my systems and Milford3's Beyer T1's (with Zen Head amp) and some Grados.  Hide if you can.  Have you been to the Pearl Street Grill?  Some great award winning brews.  Their porter is amazing.  Pumped.

I'll be attending at a later date - can't wait! It will be a terrific show - guaranteed. I doubt that I would have attended an Opeth concert 20 years ago. I just hope I'm not the only guy there with gray hair.

Have you ever seen/heard the Dali/Disney collaboration set to Opeth's 'I feel the Dark'? It puts the 'Wizard of Oz'/'Dark Side of the Moon' synchronicity to shame - pretty amazing.

Opeth puts on a good show, no doubt about it.  I've seen them 4 times now and they've never disappointed.  I'll think I'll skip this tour for two reasons; 1.) I'm not a fan of the Harvest album overall and 2.) their only local show is at the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest which means they'd play a shortened set (Katatonia only gets 45 minutes!!!!)...not to mention wrestle for space with 14 year old Goatwhore fans.  No thanks.  They're here every year or two, sometimes twice for each album so I'll hold out for the next go 'round.

E Rex - Thanks for Opeth plug.    I respect and applaud Mikael Åkerfeldt on so many accounts.  His vision and evolution has me fixated like no other.  Similar IMO to the early brain waves of Syd Barrett.
