Cary 805C vs a $3K 45 amp for desktop?

Hey everyone,

I'm in the process of transitioning over to a desktop setup.  For me this means probably 75% headphone listening, and 25% nearfield bookshelf listening.  Since it's mostly headphones, I'm planning on a setup maximizing headphone sound first (i.e. low power SET DHT).

My current power/pre are a Cary 805C (845 + 300B Driver) and a Tram2 (2A3/45 DHT Pre).  While this is probably the best system I could ever afford to put together for medium sensitivity speakers, I'm wondering if it's the best option for headphones?  (If you're wondering how I'll hook headphones up, I'd use a adapter box w/ a 10ohm resistor in parallel to bring overall headphone impedance down to slightly above 8ohms)

I'm thinking about selling both and instead going for a 45 DHT amp.  Specifically, this: http://www.headfonia.com/the-minute-45-amplifier-by-sac-thailand/    It's definitely got the headphone connections I want, and also has speaker taps at the back for if I get high eff bookshelves.  Also, for the record, the described sound signature in the review is *exactly* what I prefer :)

So, any thoughts?  Would this be an upgrade, downgrade, or sidegrade?  I've always read about how good 45 tubes are, and I figure headphones would be an awesome way to experience them.
