Hi all Audio Circle members
and a special hello to all the Audio Circle Vietnamese members.
On Thursday April the 5th I went with my wife to a fairly large exhibition about Audio, video and photo in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
While my wife was in negotiation with a future photographic equipment supplier, I went around and saw a booth call:
Thivan Labs.
I’ve approached a salesman and ask him if he spoke English and after he answer by a Yes, I started the conversation, because I found all the tube amplifiers that he had on display looked really nice.
I was surprised to know that all those nice looking amplifiers were made in Vietnam. The only items that were not made in Vietnam were the tubes.
The Vietnamese man was joined a few minutes later by another Vietnamese man and they introduce themselves as both owners of the company.
Mr. Thi and Mr. Van, that’s why their company is called
Thivan Labs.
They told me that they draw all their own diagrams,
they build everything and they even wound all their main and output transformer and chokes.
Since the exhibition hall was very noisy, they invited me to go to their showroom.
Today I went to their showroom combine as a nice listening room.
Have a look at their showroom via the link below.
They have lots of different tube amplifiers, integrates, phono stage, pre-amplifiers, DAC, OB speakers and more.
http://www.vnav.vn/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=16954I was impressed by what they do, because they’ve been in business for only 5 years.
I have invited them to my listening room to listen to my GR Research V1.
I will report what they think about my V1.
They told me that they will bring one amplifier to drive my speakers.
