KFUO, Big Big News!!!
« on: 2 Apr 2013, 03:10 am »
I heard KFUO is back, they are now some how affiliated with Emmis and going to be heard on 96.3 HD2 station.  The down side, unless additional changes 96.3 has 3 HD stations, if you listen to HD radio you know 96.3's HD3 Jazz station is mono, sure hoping the HD2 where KFUO will be is stereo.  Three stations puts the squeeze on bandwidth.  In addition, KFUO will also be on regular FM at 107, the announcement didn't give the exact station number.  I'm wondering if Z107.7 will become KFUO.  That would be huge.   Not to mention a bunch of sad teeny boppers :).  I'll have to check the web to see if I can find more info but I knew you all would want to hear this.

Oh...that would be terrible. My nine year old daughter will have to listen to something else in the family truckster when we go to Grandmas house.  :icon_twisted:

I have confirmation.  The call letters may not be the same but many of the same people, especially program director.

Sorry Bob, looks like 107.7 will survive, the Classical station will be on a weak analog signal at 107.3.  Actually, reading on the website at the coverage area is a bit disappointing for both casts.

So...Doug S. loses more ground with the "high quality" radio we have here in STL.

But yea, I guess my young daughter will have the privledge of listening to more.....crap....on 107.7.  :duh:

I've been listening on & off to 107.3 for the past two or three days while driving. I live in south City and the signal was weak with some static while I was on I-44. However, they could still be tweaking things since the official "opening" isn't until Monday 4/8. One can hope.
