Superclock4 for Slimdevices Transporter
« on: 28 Mar 2013, 08:20 pm »
I would appreciate some help with the voltage requirement to be fed to the Superclock4 to be used in my Transporter.  I bought the clock from Audiocom over a year ago with a few other mods and have only now found someone to help me install the mods.  The Superclock4 has two check boxes labelled as 3.3V and 5V but there is no indication to show which voltage is required.
Unfortunately I have been unable to get any help from Audiocom International despite multiple emails.
Does anyone have any idea what the correct voltage would be?

any advice would be much appreciated

regards

Jose

I have a transporter also and would appreciate reading about the results of your tweak/mod.  How much does it cost and what exactly are the parts that you purchased?

Hi

All the mods have now been installed after some assistance from AudioCom.  I am happy with the sound but it is very difficult to be certain of any improvements as I have to rely on my audio "memory" of what the initial sound was.... My impression is that the sound is smoother and soundstaging more precise.  I like what I am hearing but the initial sound was pretty good too.  Whether the mods have been worthwhile is difficult to assess objectively - I will have to try to get a friends standard Transporter to compare it to which may happen sometime on the future.
I can however say that the installation was difficult mainly due to the lack of detailed instructions.  I am a novice when it comes to this type of installation and had to use an experienced audio repairer.

Thanks for the update. May I ask what the parts cost was? Did you incur any labor costs? I'm very interested in this mod as I use a Transporter for most of my listening.

I paid 285 UK pounds at the time (about US$ 444), the most expensive item being the Superclock 4 at 170 pounds.  quite expensive I suppose
